This Foreign Thing Called Football

So tonight, despite having worked 8 strait hours at the pool, I decided I still had enough energy to go to the Godwin football game tonight with Riona and Cameron. Going to Maggie Walker, who is more popular for our chess club than our nonexistent football team, I'd never actually been to a high school football game before, so being the crazy football fan he is, Cameron decided he needed to change that. Riona came too of course, because the three of us have known each other for 5 years now, and are kind of the original people in our group of camp friends. I got to the game about halfway through, but I was already pretty obvious Godwin was going to win, I mean, even though I don't even have the slightest idea about how anything works in football I could definitely tell that! We didn't actually watch the game that much, just hung around with Cameron's friends from school and watched the pep band and wandered around and took crazy pictures as usual, and talked to my bestie AVERY! He told me all about MW orientation and such, and since we're both Maggie Walker nerds we had a very in depth conversation about our teachers this year and all our nerdy courses and such.

Ugh, school starts on Tuesday and I don't know how I'm going to function without seeing these two while we're all busy with school and homework and life. At least I'll have Avery :)

Hi wow something's wrong with my eye but I think Avery loves me...
Love her <3

Flash forward 5 years...
I love you both! Hopefully it won't be long before we all see each other again!

The Cure for Sore Legs

Thanks to this week full of field hockey practice, I have not been able to blog as much as I would had liked to. I am also not able to walk like a normal human being, as well as sit down without making some sort of terrible old lady noise.

There's only one cure for this problem.

It started with getting out of my room (where I've spent most of my week in my pajamas with my laptop recovering by watching cheesy 90's movies on Netflix) Even though I was pretty lazy for most of the day (we did a gauntlet at practice this morning, I feel like I deserve it) tonight I was reunited with some of my amazing camp friends who I had missed so freakishly much it was insane.

Ok, so it wasn't all of them, only me, Cameron, and Riona. But since we're kind of the original three (we met when we were 11 and have been together since the 6th grade) it was wonderful anyway. We went to the Galaxy Diner in Carytown, where I tried the AMAZING oreo malt, had a hard time choosing between Yapple and Sweetfrog but eventually went to Sweetfrog (which, if you haven't been there in a while, I HIGHLY suggest the raspberry pomegranate flavor), walked up and down the street a couple times just talking about life, and eventually walked Riona back to her bike. Since Cameron was giving me a ride home, we just hung out for a while and took some weird Snapchat pictures and enjoyed being social since neither of us have really had a social life since camp ended. Oh well, tonight was worth a couple weeks of sitting in my room watching Clueless on repeat...

Yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum
Riona and Cameron may have stolen my phone...
You can't deny it, we make one beautiful pair of best friends...

So, despite my failing efforts at sitting down and/or walking, at least I have wonderful friends like Cameron and Riona!

How Sweet the Sound

It's finally here... CAMP PICTURES!

I'm actually probably as excited as you are, because I hadn't seen any of the pictures before my friend Avery posted them this morning. So I spent a long time stalking all of them and missing camp and remembering all the amazing times we had this year.

I don't really know how to say this, but I know the friends I've made here are friends I'll have for life. Spending two weeks constantly together may seem hard, but it brings us so close together, these people are like my family. I've told some of them things I've never told anyone else, we've shared memories no one else would understand, and I know they'll love me and support me no matter what. I really mean it when I say I love you guys. Thanks for being there no matter how long we've known each other, whether that be 6, 5, or even just 2 years. I really do love you guys, thanks for an amazing year. :)

And with that, here are the pictures!

Yeah sorry, we took stereotypical jumping pictures at B-Woods

I don't usually look like this, I just hadn't showered in a while, plus I'm standing next to Olivia

Brethren Woods had a camp dog named Nala, so we all enjoyed playing with her, especially Zach

Beautiful views from the mountains

Selfies with my best friends on Zach's phone

We all love Avery.

Oh hey Zach...

Charles

They asked me to make an intense face before climbing the hard wall... this resulted...

All of us on top of the mountain

I wasn't actually that high up...

So no matter where I go, what choices I make, or what happens to all of us in the future, I know that these amazing people will always be a part of me. Even though this was our last year as actual campers, even though this may be some people's last years at all, I know that we'll always come back to each other in the end. You guys are my family, you know me better then anyone else. Thank you for always being there, even if we only see each other a couple weeks out of the year.

I love you guys.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound.

That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost but now am found.

Was blind but now I see.

Alleluia.
